Luminaire designers can now test and evaluate the LUMAWISE Drive LED Holder Type Z50 with development kit from TE Connectivity

DARMSTADT, Germany – February 15, 2018 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has introduced a development kit for its new LUMAWISE Drive LED Holder Type Z50, enabling luminaire designers to purchase a single unit for desktop testing, product evaluation and luminaire prototyping. Each kit contains an LED holder, a cable assembly and a thermal interface material.

DSM announces global price increases for several high performance plastics

Royal DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, today announces that significant and continuing cost increases of main raw materials throughout 2017 and early 2018 have caused DSM Engineering Plastics to increase prices globally for several polyamide and thermoplastic polyester products, effective April 1 or as contracts allow. The price increases are as follows:

TE Connectivity introduces high performance M12 X-Code Series connectors for data transmission in railway vehicle networks

DARMSTADT, Germany – February 12, 2018 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has launched a new range of M12 rail connectors for field assembly. The M12 X-Code Series connectors enable data transmission rates of up to 10 Gb per second (according to IEC 802.3an Cat 6a), their full-metal shells provide all-round shielding against EMI/RFI interference, and they are sealed against dust and water to IP67 level. Intended applications include data and sensor networks, train door control assemblies and rail vehicle HVAC systems.


A lightweight composite aircraft interior module, co-developed by Diehl Aircabin and EconCore, which uses thermoplastic honeycomb cores for strength, low weight, and high fire resistance, will be on display in the Innovation Planets area at JEC World.

EconCore to present innovations in continuous honeycomb sandwich technology at JEC World 2018 

EconCore’s continuous process for producing high performance lightweight thermoplastic honeycomb cores for composites is set to be a crowd-puller at JEC World 2018 in Paris on March 6 to 8. Its ThermHex process meets the growing need for replacing complex, heavy and expensive parts in highly demanding applications across industries. On Stand R73 in Hall 6, EconCore will present results of new development and tests on honeycombs made in modified polycarbonates, polyamide 66 and polyphenylene sulfide. The work is being carried out in its newly refurbished R&D facilities in Leuven, Belgium.
